To preserve and maintain the Historical Village, the Livingston Centre Historical Society has several fundraising events throughout the year, The largest is known as Family Fall Fest. In 2010, this will be the 20th annual festival formally known as Remembering Yesteryear and Fowlerville Fall Festival.
Not only will you be touring the Historical Village, but on display are several steam engines and antique tractors.
On the grounds you will be able to witness the making of lost arts, such as weaving on an antique loom, candle making, and spinning yarn from wool on a wooden wheel.
Visitors will also be able to view memorabilia from Baseball Hall of Fame Member Charlie Gehringer who was a Fowlerville native. "The Mechanical Man" Gehringer was a second baseman for the Detroit Tigers from 1924 to 1942.
Children of all ages can enjoy games and toys from an era to long ago for even their parents to remember.
At dusk you will be able to experience a Steam Engine powered spark show. The sparks are blown high into the air from the steam engine's smoke stack for onlookers to enjoy. This is an amazing display, sort of like an old fashioned fire works display.
The Family Fall Fest is scheduled for September 18-19, 2010.
